FOOD SERVICE DEPARTMENT
For the 2025-2026 school year, WPS is participating in the Free Schools Meals Program through the State of MN. Each student is able to receive one free breakfast and lunch each school day. Costs listed below are for additional items or milk only purchases.
Milk - $.50
Elementary Breakfast - $2.50
Elementary Lunch - $2.60
High School Breakfast - $2.50
High School Lunch - $5.25

WHAT ARE MEAL BENEFITS?
Schools that participate in School Nutrition Programs accept applications for free and reduced-price school meal benefits at any time. Approval is based on comparison of the household's income to current U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) household income guidelines. Schools send an Application for Educational Benefits form to the households of all enrolled students after July 1.
A hard copy was mailed earlier this Summer, but it can also be completed 100% online at Infinite Campus → Parent Portal → More → Meal Benefits.

Staff Spotlight
Ardis Thompson started her career in the Warroad Schools Culinary team in 2016. In the 2021/2022 school year she took on the role of Head Cook for the High School Kitchen and has been our Lead ever since! She has recently been improving her Acumen for Student Nutrition by participating in the Minnesota Student Nutrition Association as seen pictured here during a team building exercise, where we needed to build a reimbursable meal with the foods provided. She also visited an organic farm that provides farm to school products to local schools in the area of Rochester, amongst other training provided at the MNSNA Conference this year. Having one of the biggest hearts I've ever met, she loves to give hugs in the morning and seeing all the kids get nutritious foods that help power their energy and brain power! If you see her please give her a big Thank You for all she does for our students here at Warroad Schools!
