Gather up some old friends, bring a favorite teacher or staff member or come as a 2, 3, or 4 generation package. This is a community event celebrating Warroad and the value and commitment this town has given to education for over 130 years!
We hope summer has you finding lots of time to play outside, but whether you're looking for a quick break to beat the heat or something to do on a rainy day, don't forget about the summer reading opportunity for all WES students in grades K-5 this past school year. The goal is to read or listen to 15+ books over the summer.

The Native American Education Program sends a heartfelt thank you to the Smokey Hill Drum Group for sharing their knowledge, teachings and stories and for teaching such a wonderful group how to make their very own traditional hand drums. The group had a great three days, rawhide was soaked, and tied. Everyone had the opportunity to tie and make their own individual sticks and paint and learn to drum. Huge shout out to Christina at Seven Clans for providing us with a delicious catered lunch each day. Thank you RiverPlace staff, for the accommodations and beautiful classroom and use of the theatre.
Most importantly, thank you, to the group, for sharing a wonderful three days with us and for your great questions and willingness to learn! Everyone did an amazing job!

The second round of the Section 8AA baseball playoffs have been moved to Thief River Falls tomorrow. The Warriors will play TRF at noon at the MEC in Thief. The second game will be at 230pm.

The baseball team learned their seed today! They received the 3rd seed and will play Crookston at home on Tuesday, 5pm!

This week our 5th graders participated in a 6th grade orientation day as they prepare to transition to high school next year. The day included time learn key info about high school, meet their 6th grade teachers, and do a scavenger hunt style tour around the high school...all in the hopes of helping ease those middle school nerves. They capped their day off with a trip to Scoops!
