Katie Jo Olafson was a faithful Warrior that passed away in 2000. Her family created the Katie Jo Olafson fund in her memory. Katie Jo liked to cheer for the underdog and look out for those needing a friend. Her parents, Joe and Joan, recently authorized disbursement of funds to help students in classrooms with over $2000 worth of educational supplemental supplies purchased. They recognize that many teachers are spending their own money for "extras". Pictured here are Iver, Libby & Leif Olafson, some of Katie Jo's nieces and nephews. Katie Jo Olafson Fund • Purpose: provides funding for projects, activities, education or supplies that build self-esteem, and a feeling of community from a traditional standpoint which benefits students within Warroad School District #690. Over the past month the IT Department has been hard at work on the first Elementary classroom instructional technology upgrade since 2008! This upgrade is replacing old projector based smart boards with 75" Promethean 4K interactive touch screens. Last week we capped off the project by making a trip up to the NW Angle School. The kids sure seemed excited!
